PowerMax File supports schedule-based snapshots for both protocol and checkpoint on all the file systems. Administrators can run up to 50 schedules concurrently in one hour. It is recommended to spread out snap schedules such that at any point of time there are no more than 50 snap create or snap expiry task executions.
Snap schedules less than hourly frequency is not supported.

Select a storage system that supports PowerMax File.

SNAPSHOT POLICY.

Create to create a snapshot policy or select an existing policy and select
Modify.

Select a NAS server and type the name.

Enter the properties for Recovery Point Objective.

Enter the properties for Interval Offset.
Interval Offset can be set only if Recovery Point Objective is set at an hourly basis.

Select the File Snapshot access type.

Create only: Select the
Replicate snapshot policy to the remote system if NAS server has an active replication session checkbox.

Select the
Enable snapshot policy to take snapshots on all attached file systems as per set recovery point objective checkbox.
If the snapshot policy is enabled, it continues creating snapshots and expiring existing snapshots on all attached file systems as per the set recovery point objective. if the snapshot policy is disabled, no snapshots are taken and existing snapshots will not expire on attached file systems until the policy is enabled again.
